Goodbye One Stop Prom Shop!

After several months of working, the One Stop Prom Shop came and went on March 3. From 11:00 to 3:00, people went to the natatorium to view the magnificent spectacle that high school juniors and seniors created. The marketing education classes at Cuyahoga Falls High School collaborated to make a trade show for all people in need of help for their prom needs. The junior and senior classes worked on the social media, and business edge of the project. While Interactive Media created an assembly that helped promote the One Stop at the high school. Through dancing, a game show, and free stuff, people flocked to the natatorium that Sunday.

At the event, there were fashion shows, morph dancers, American Commodore dancers, and a raffle! People were constantly entertained while being informed about their prom needs. Vendors that helped make this successful included hair salons, restaurants, dress shops, and much more! People were even able to look inside of two limousines.

As a morph, I would prance around and take pictures with people who were willing. As a signature of the One Stop Prom Shop, we added a colorful edge to the event. 12 purple and silver morph suits would come together and perform the synchronized dance that we performed at the assembly. Local news channels and newspapers came record the event.

Overall, I am proud to be a part of such a successful project. I learned several marketing and business techniques that will help in the future.

Harlem Shake (OSPS Edition)

If you are unfamiliar with the viral song Harlem Shake, you must have been sleeping under a rock. the artist Bauuer is a sensation mainly because of the people who have made videos with it. Just by searching the words "Harlem Shake," you will see thousands of results including people embarrassing themselves.

As marketing students, the IMDD class saw this viral video sensation as an opportunity to advertise the One Stop Prom Shop. Therefore, we decided to make our own Harlem Shake video with morphs, masks and many other surprising characters. It all began last Tuesday, with a simple view of the original Harlem Shake video. After watching it we started concocting ideas for how to make our own version of the video. After only two days of planning and 36 minutes of of filming, the One Stop Prom Shop Harlem Shake video was born. After being released for only 24 hours, it has gained 898 youtube views, 205 facebook views, and helped gain 15 new followers for the One Stop Prom Shop twitter. The One Stop Prom Shop team are proud of what we have collaboratively created.

One Stop Prom Shop

After months of planning and hard work, we are only two weeks away from the One Stop Prom Shop assembly and Prom expo. In the beginning, all of it laid in the hands of 20 junior DECA students. It has now become a collaborative effort between 60 students; Junior DECA, Senior Deca, and Interactive Media. We have all become a united front and are now the faces of this marvelous project. The Junior class works with all of the logistics, the Senior class handles the social media and Interactive Media orchestrates the assembly that helps promote the project. From the outside looking in, we are only a piece to this enormous puzzle.

As a part of the interactive media class, I have willingly signed myself up to become a slave to the junior class. Our main purpose in life was to appease every demand they had. I signed up to become a happy-go-lucky morph. These demands included dancing to Gangnam Style, wearing the same clothes for a week straight, and perfecting our dance some more. Another team that are servants to the overlord is the video team. They are responsible for creating a video that helps add to the assembly. The assembly is a key marketing tool that helps high school students know about the One Stop Prom Shop. Overall, I am proud to be a part of a class that allows us to work independently and create a marvelous business.

OSPS Teams

One stop prom shop or OSPS, is a one day event where students come out to a location and find out answers for all of their prom needs. Therefore, in order for people to come, the IMDD class are going to help promote this at different schools through an assembly.
As a part of the preparation of the one stop prom shop assembly, we are required to break into teams and help create an amazing promotional event. I was assigned to help make a game show. It basically informs students what OSPS is for and why they should go. Although, it makes it more entertaining for the people watching.
Right now, this event is a hectic, crazy, yet exciting experience. All of work needs to be done but I am excited on how this event will turn out!

My First Biz!!!!

In collaboration with one of my classmates, we are lucky enough to work with a music instructor. She has given us the opportunity to create programs for her Christmas musical and to work with her later in the year for another engagement. In our cases, its a simple assignment that will definitely be fun at the same time. The holidays isn't exactly my favorite time of the year but if I make money, then it won't be so bad after all.

Yearbook Design!!!

Our last project required us to make yearbook covers for our school. It  was one of the hardest designs because of how much effort we all put into it. Our main purpose was to portray our school into one cover. A lot of us believe that the tiger is a very vital part of our school. I think it was one of the harder projects because of how close to home it is for a lot of us. At the end of the day, I conjured  a couple of ideas that the yearbook may or may not like.

Black Friday

Black Friday is the special day where "Santa" makes all of the children's dreams come true. Black Friday was titled as such because companies begin to gain a profit when they are in the black. Although, if they are in the red, they are losing money. Usually, they are in the black after Thanksgiving. Consumers are excited for this because of the amazing deals that are available to them. As for myself, I plan on shopping with the intent of finding multiple Christmas gifts at very low prices. I plan on going to Macy's, the Apple Store, Best Buy, and Foot Locker. Hopefully, they will have some great discounts! Although, according to Forbes.com, people are getting lazier every year. Supposedly, people are more likely pay thorough mobile devices. There has been a 371% increase in mobile payments. Also, another development is that consumers are more likely to shop online on Black Friday. For example, Amazon was the leading internet shopping source last year. Last,  companies made their customer a priority in making sales. Either way, companies are continuing to make money no matter how the items are purchased.
