Harlem Shake (OSPS Edition)

If you are unfamiliar with the viral song Harlem Shake, you must have been sleeping under a rock. the artist Bauuer is a sensation mainly because of the people who have made videos with it. Just by searching the words "Harlem Shake," you will see thousands of results including people embarrassing themselves.

As marketing students, the IMDD class saw this viral video sensation as an opportunity to advertise the One Stop Prom Shop. Therefore, we decided to make our own Harlem Shake video with morphs, masks and many other surprising characters. It all began last Tuesday, with a simple view of the original Harlem Shake video. After watching it we started concocting ideas for how to make our own version of the video. After only two days of planning and 36 minutes of of filming, the One Stop Prom Shop Harlem Shake video was born. After being released for only 24 hours, it has gained 898 youtube views, 205 facebook views, and helped gain 15 new followers for the One Stop Prom Shop twitter. The One Stop Prom Shop team are proud of what we have collaboratively created.

One Stop Prom Shop

After months of planning and hard work, we are only two weeks away from the One Stop Prom Shop assembly and Prom expo. In the beginning, all of it laid in the hands of 20 junior DECA students. It has now become a collaborative effort between 60 students; Junior DECA, Senior Deca, and Interactive Media. We have all become a united front and are now the faces of this marvelous project. The Junior class works with all of the logistics, the Senior class handles the social media and Interactive Media orchestrates the assembly that helps promote the project. From the outside looking in, we are only a piece to this enormous puzzle.

As a part of the interactive media class, I have willingly signed myself up to become a slave to the junior class. Our main purpose in life was to appease every demand they had. I signed up to become a happy-go-lucky morph. These demands included dancing to Gangnam Style, wearing the same clothes for a week straight, and perfecting our dance some more. Another team that are servants to the overlord is the video team. They are responsible for creating a video that helps add to the assembly. The assembly is a key marketing tool that helps high school students know about the One Stop Prom Shop. Overall, I am proud to be a part of a class that allows us to work independently and create a marvelous business.
